Cabo Verde President encourages clubs to organize league this year

José Maria Neves, President of Cabo Verde, met with sports leaders from the island of Maio and encouraged the to organize a regional championship this year.

“I wanted to have this meeting precisely to encourage them to organize the championship. Here we cannot be focused on problems, but need to focus on solutions, and we must set clear objectives. Maio has talent and many resources,” Neves said.

Maio failed to hold any competitions last year but has performed well in national competitions including a final appearance in the Taça Cabo Verde by club Figueirense back in 2023.
