Académico do Sal fire manager

Following Académico do Sal’s 5-1 loss to GD Palmeira, Francisco Xavier, president of the club’s board, released a statement saying that “Académico do Sal have ended their relationship with manager Dady Fernandes.”

Fernandes, a former Cabo Verde international, only took control of Académico at the start of the season, returning to the island of Sal where he last managed the now defunct Oasis Atlântico. He leaves the club still in second place in the campeonato regional.
